The Real Estate Pros on TLC
Does anyone watch this show? I find it fascinating. Do any of you work in a similar type situation?

Love the show! It's actually nice to see one of those that's got real people in it. One thing I noticed is that they get in and get out . . . fast!!! They also get the flip priced to sell quickly - they don't sit on it, waiting for top dollar. Those guys really are "Pros"!
I think it would be so cool to be on their team for a month and see first-hand how they work.

I made an inquiry about his franchise. He has a meeting coming up in the next week down there in Charleston. I cannot attend but I would find it interesting. If you cannot attend the meeting you don't get info on the franchise, at this at this point. I am in Texas. They sent me a letter that said that he has had over 3400 inquiries just from Texas. More than a few of us are interested in his methods.

They were actually the first version of " Flip That House" but they had a falling out with A&E and they in turn developed this show on TLC.
After they left the series, the other teams they had on those shows never held a candle to these guys!

I too watch the show and what I've noticed is a lack of full disclosure about the financing and the ACTUAL profit realised. They make it sound so easy...

Pass the grain of salt. Without an independent audit it is all BS. I would have no trouble making all sorts of money on a TV show. It is only in real life that it proves difficult.

Exactly. While I do find the shows entertaining, I think they give people a false sense of security when doing these types of things and as much as I don't normally think TV is the cause of things, I can't help but think shows like this are part of the foreclosure problem that has come about.
One other thing, the crew from ATL that was on Flip This House when the SC crew left their original channel. Did you guys see that the head guy (I think his name was Sam) was accused of Fraud in relation to the show? Turns out they weren't really doing the work and they weren't actually selling the houses. Some of the properties they were working on they didn't even own.
Im not exactly sure what came out of this, but stories like this make me really wonder about some of the stuff that goes on with these shows.
'Flip This House' star accused of fraud
Alot of the shows merely put what they list the house for with POTENTIAL profit, and this really means nothing. It could sit for 1 yr before they sell it at that price or the could be dropping the price and selling it for very little profit. It really is a tough call on how succesful these people actually are, though I don't doubt Trademark's success.

That show is a pipe dream for most people since they use private money and thus aren't tied into restrictive mortgages like the average Joe or Jane would require to do what they do. The private money allows them to pull off a lot of projects (most) which would otherwise be flops or financial disasters if they had to go to traditional lenders.
Richard's method works very well if you can get some private backers with $5-10MM to back your projects, otherwise forget it.
Now on to more serious matters: Anyone think Ginger and Richard are just a little too friendly? She's a cutie but I think she's become more than just an understudy

I love the show as well and like to see the growth of his company as he started where many have(with very little) so it is great to see success!
