Given to you as a client? Or given to a client?

It's that time of year again......and the well of ideas is running dryer than dry. I've handed out full service car wash coupons (some got detailing), restaurant gift cards, movie passes, to tire pressure gauges and so on. Couple of years ago, I had a couple hundred thumb drives made up with my logo and number......

I've less than 30 days and need ideas. In the past, I've given out two different price points.......the $5 - $10 to about 20 or so.......and then the "pushing RESPA boundaries" (but these folks have also become personal friends, so that line can be a bit blurred).

Anyone?

As a consumer, this is curious. I've had a couple realtors in my day and have never received a holiday gift. Is this usually done for current clients or repeat clients?

My business primarily depends on Realtor referrals....I do mortgage loans for a living.

I give the Entertainment Book to some of my past or "in contract" current clients and it was always well received. Lots of coupons and other discounts, and available for different parts of the country.

I am easy (and cheap). My first realtor from over 10 years ago sent me a frig magnet calendar every year at Christmas until I moved out of state. This was something I used and needed! Each month gave me housing tips for keeping my house buyer ready. Very cute!

Good to hear that clients actually use and appreciate them. I send out around 150 and also give them out at Open Houses (unless they're already working with another agent).

One of the best gifts I received recently was a gas card. Silly of me, I guess, but I really appreciated it and I remember who gave it to me when I stop at that station now. I hardly ever keep logo gifts unless they're utilitarian. I still have and use a magnetic bottle opener, a multi-function knife, a letter opener, and a reusable (grocery-type) shopping bag. I don't know if you can get any of these in your price point, though.

I struggle with giving logo gifts. It's hard for me to see something worthwhile that doesn't come across as shameless self promotion.

I think you hit it dead on, it needs to be useful, especially for the casual gifts (under $20). We recently received Maglite flashlights with our company logo, the full size ones. I'm going to ask about those, only because I am running out of ideas.
