Thank you to all who responded. Yes I have an agent. She stated that the escrow should have opened the next day, and told me which title company the buyer would be using. The buyers agent could not open escrow because she did not keep it to forward to the title company, then called my agent after business on 2nd day to say that the buyer could not proceed. Something just sounds wrong with the whole deal.
Thanks

It sounds like the buyer's agent didn't follow proper procedure. If they send you a copy of the deposit check as proof of deposit, they should keep it in the office until the contract is ratified or cancelled. Making a copy and handing it back to the buyer is not what should have been done.
