Default HELP!! I can't get an agent to sign a listing agreement

I have a lot in The mountains in Cashiers, NC. I had tried to reach the broker in charge for about 3 weeks to no avail and then someone told me he was not in the office and they could "possibly" help me. They did. 3 days after that I received the listing agreement, signed it and got it back to them in less than a week. A week goes by andd I have yet to receive anything signed from the broker, I call and e-mail and they say he will be gone for 2-3 weeks and nothing will get done in that time. I have tried to list it with a national Real Estate companie and they can't do what the developer can do with marketing and pricing. I am stuck and can get no help. The developer paid for 18 months of interest and the loan is due in March. Nothing, I mean, Nothing has been done in the subdivison.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me??? Do I need an attorney?? I feel as if I have been scammed. Does the Real Estate Company, even though the agreement has not been signed, have any obligations to me. Please help!!!!

I'm not sure I'm following your post entirely, but from what I can tell it does sound like you should be visiting with a good real estate attorney. As far as the broker being out of town for a couple of weeks and not being able to sign paperwork, that's bullhockey. A designated broker cannot leave for more than 24 hours without having someone else act in his behalf, so somebody's giving you the runaround on that.

The part of your post I didn't quite follow was about the developer. Expound on that part a little please. This is the way I understand it at this point: You purchased this lot a while back and the developer made certain promises that he's not kept, and now you want to sell this lot? Am I getting this right?

Fill us in a little more and we'll see what we can do to help.

You need to hire a Real Estate attorney and get after the developer to return your money ASAP.
