My sister has her house on the market. Most of the homes in her area need updating. Her home is totally renovated from electric to plumbing to a new kitchen, etc. The realtor is avoiding putting this info on realtor.com but I think it's very important. She keeps asking but keeps getting the run around.

No description but good thing you told me to check the listing. The price was lowered $10K. It was correct yesterday and earlier today but now it showing a decrease of $20K.

I still think the description will sell the home to let buyer's know about all the updates. I just don't know why the realtor won't add it.

So there IS at least one online listing...
What pages do you see the listing on?

It's on Realtor, Trulia, Zillow, Yahoo, homestore, etc. Some have a description but it has mistakes. She asked him to fix it and he says he puts it on the MLS which feeds into those other sites so he has no control over it.

If he fixes it on the MLS, it will auto populate and self correct on the other sites when they update their feeds. Zillow and Trulia are easy to fix because agents can create a free account and self correct from there.

It costs more to put a longer description on Realtor.com that isn't the MLS description. The basic feeds for free.

Is there a place on the MLS to put a description?

Yes. You should have your listing agent print out the MLS listing for you to review. That should have happened the moment it was listed, I'm surprised you haven't seen it.

It does take a small amount of time for the changes to populate to realtor.com but should happen quickly IF your agent gets it on MLS.
