Need Some Answers to Questions From A North Carolina RE Broker
Relocating from up north to NC to possibly purchase a company that does strictly lease/options. I was told that you do not need a RE Brokers license to do lease/options. I will get my license anyway. Now, my first question is "Is this true?" Also, we hope to also branch into listing homes for sale if the situation arises. I know I need a RE Brokers license to do this but my other question is "Do you have to work under another Broker for two years to be able to list homes under your own company?" DO YOU FOLLOW???...
Can anyone answer these questions for me or direct me to someone who can???Thanks so much!

These look like fairtly basic questions. You just have to be sure you get them from a reliable source in your jurisdiction. I could give you the NJ answers, but those would be useless & possibly confusing. I would suggest you simply get in touch witht heh NC Real Estate Commission, or whatever the equivelant government regulatory authority is in NC.

Fairly easy to answer but your best bet would be to call the NC Real Estate commission.
Who better than to give you the info?

I thinik you can lease/option your personal properties all the time without a license.
If you intend to represent other people, I think you should plan on having a license.
You should plan on working under a Broker-in-Charge for two years if you are intending on hanging out your own shingle.
These folks can help clarify any questions:
