Everywhere you go new developments seem to use the term “Luxury” as the key descriptor of their properties.

Does this mean anything? Is it associated with something unique? Does every single marketing strategy call for emphasizing this term? Or is it just a way of telling buyers they know we are emotional sheep who won’t buy unless it stokes our ego.

I also have trouble with the over used phrase “resort lifestyle”. Does it simply mean there will eventually be a swimming pool? Or does it mean you can order cocktails poolside.

What positive connection am I missing.

Probably mostly marketing. I'd hope it means the fixtures and appointments are a step above builder grade, but it's not exactly a legal term.

Like most sales pitches, it's hype. Just like realtor ads for homes that use euphemisms

and enhanced photos through lenses that make everything look bigger than it really is.

It means that you should expect a high price tag--probably more than it it worth.
