We invite all real estate agents to create free blogs on our website (click on
Blogs in the top navigation bar visible on all our forum pages). City-data.com gets around
11 million unique visitors (updated May 2009) per month and all your past and future forum posts will have links to your blog, so this can mean a lot of free exposure. Unlike in the forum posts, we allow one commercial link (or a phone number) in blog entries.
Here are our blog rules. They might be updated and changed in the future.
- Entries have to be original content, not published anywhere else previously
- No commercial links in Blog Description are allowed (a commercial link is a link to a page from which you could gain financial benefit, such as an affiliate link to Amazon or a real estate agent's link to her own website)
- At most one commercial link or other type of advertisement (such as a business phone number) is allowed per blog entry
- Entries containing commercial links or other types of advertisements must be at least 100 words long
- An entry cannot be created mainly for commercial purposes
- An entry cannot have repeating or irrelevant keywords, be nonsensical or otherwise appear spammy
- An entry cannot use hidden text or other tricks made for search engines
- An entry cannot be just a reworded version of a previous blog entry or of material published elsewhere
- No personal attacks, flaming, or insults are allowed
- Entries potentially defaming people or organizations are not allowed
- No entries that are obscene, vulgar, pornographic, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violate any laws
- No commercial links in blog comments
- Blogs on our site currently don't display ads, however this could change at any time
- The owners of City-data.com reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any blog, blog entry, or blog comment for any reason
- The owners of City-data.com are the final arbiters on what is spammy, insulting, commercial, defamatory, hateful, and on any other matter defined in these rules
The rules will be updated here:
