Hey guys and gals,
I'm just wondering how we're all doing. I had 3 slow weeks in a row but the last 2 weeks have been crazy busy. Is it just me around my parts, or has it been this way in other areas also? Slow July, Busy August so far?
Things have bene really busy for me, I'm the top agent in my office right now. I am loving real estate. I keep taking as many free classes and seminars as I can so that I'll have as much knowledge and motivation as possible when things get better. Shoot, if this is "slow", bring it on!!!
August is historically prime time for inbound relocations in this area. Not so, this year. <sigh> Local buyers ( greater Chicagoland area) want to buy, but can't sell their existing homes. Most sellers do not want to get stuck with a home sale/close contingency at this time of year.
We will see who really has versus wants to move within the next few months.
In addition to active clients, I've had three different "new" clients (either about to list or wanting to buy) in the wings for a few months--waiting to act for various reasons...last Friday all three called and wanted to "move"--either to list or to discuss writing up an offer.
Figures! That's the kind of 'problem' I like to have!
You know I'm not a realtor so I hope you don't mind my adding to this thread. We spoke to a realtor on Friday in the area we would like to move to and he said he was getting "hammered." Now, I know that could mean he's at the bar, but we took it to mean that he is very busy.
I was really busy for the past month, and am in a slow spot this week. Thankfully...I needed the break. Already have plans for the end of the week with buyers and sellers so I'll be back on the fast track.
My biggest problem is that my relocater's can't sell their homes. So I'm in a holding pattern with several folks.
I have buyers, lots of buyers - but most "want to wait a bit until the market bottoms out" but they are getting their feelers ready....and I am having a horrible time getting a few approved! One girl has 702 credit score, money in the bank, but owns her own business and can't put more than 5% down and so far 3 people have said they can't help her! UGGGH! She found a house and ready to move - so I wish I could say I'm rollin' in the dough but I'm not - my gut tells me that by Feb 09 things will be back on track and steady..good luck to y'all..

What area are you looking? Just curious, which areas seem to be doing well.
Absolutely unbelievable to be reading how you are all slammed! I'm in NY and I am DEAD here! No showings on listings and no buyer calls at ALL! I'm moving to where you guys are!
