Had a Blackberry, dumped it in June for my Samsung A737 and haven't looked back. Life got too stressful when I was checking my email when I was out the bar, restaurants and even waking up at 3AM to check it.
What is the better about the Samsung? I haven't heard about that one. Aside from the Blackberry always tempting you to check your email, did you have any other issues with it? I already check my email about every 10-15 minutes when I'm working from home. It will save me a lot of stress when I'm out and have to get to my email quick because of an order or when I get a new real estate lead. Currently I have to rush home or to a computer, so for my purposes I think it will help. I was also wondering about the picture quality of the Blackberry.

It's a phone without email. It's a lot smaller and easier to use. When I had my blacberry, the internet speed was very clse & couldn't do 3/4 of the stuff I wanted it too.
I love my HTC 6800 from Altel. It is Windows based and syncs my Outlook, Contacts and Tasks. It also can act as a lockbox key and has the full qwerty slide out keyboard. Plus you can get lots of extra programs like Mileage Manager to track you miles for tax purposes.
such a good question. I have had many phones (and I am hard on them.....) right now I need a new one and I am debating between the new TMobile GI google phone (like the Iphone with a full qwerty keyboard) and the blackberry curve.
I do a lot of texting and emailing from my phone, so I recommend getting a phone with a full keyboard if you do as well. I find that texting long copy can be tedious without it. Thus, I won't consider the blackberry pearl. but my husband loves his pearl. He loves the size of it and he can get his emails and texts, but he doesn't text as much I do.
I am looking forward to folks replys on this thread.

I'm not a realtor but i have the bberry curve and IMo it is the best I could have wished for, specially for txt, calendar....business!

The picture quality of my bberry curve phone is great! I wish I would get paid for all the times I recommended this great phone.
I use a TREO 755p. Amazingly my brokerage supplies them to the agents. They believe ( as I do ) that in this day and age agents need to be connected. Handling 100's of emails a day is no problem. I communicate most by email with clients and am able to do so very quickly no matter where I am. It also functions as my ekey for supra keyboxes. I never have to update it ( it does it automatically). If I am with clients showing property and we come across a home that wasn't on our list i can look it up on line. It's surprising how often I am looking things up on google. Both for business and personal.
I've had a Treo 650 for the past 2+ years but am now about 3 weeks into testing the iPhone.
Paying $600 for two iPhones (my wife and I are both Realtors) plus the extra $60/mo. for the data plans was not something I decided upon lightly. But we have up to 30 days to trade them back in, so I figured it was a 30 day trial.
I'm sad to say that the iPhone has me perplexed. It certainly allows me to do things I couldn't do before, but I'm not yet convinced that any of that crap translates into more productivity. I have 1 more week to either return them or be locked into the two year renewal with ATT. I'm leaning toward taking them back and reverting to the old Treos.
We don't do texting, period, but on vacation this summer it was a major hassle not being able to read pdf files via email on the Treo when we had suddenly several offers on our listings. Kept having to return to the hotel room to check email. Thet's when I decided I needed better access to email and files on the fly.
But I think the iPhone over-solves our particular problem, though it is a neat device to play with.
What type of cell phone do most real estate agents on here use? I'm about to buy a new one and debating between an iphone and a Blackberry. I also have an internet business, so I want to be able to access the internet easily, text, email etc... I just wanted to find out which phone people have found to suit their needs better. Thanks.
Most of the agents that I know use either Blackberry or the Iphone. I have a Palm treo 680 that has been wonderful-full keyboard, easy to use etc. I had a blackberry and it kept shutting off which seems to be a problem with them and the Iphone is quite delicate and cannot be insured so if you drop it, you are out of luck. They don't make the treo anymore so I am also searching for something that doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles but is easy to use as a PDA, easy email access etc. I have At&t/ I would also like to know which phone agents think is the easiest to use.
I just switched from the Palm Treo 700p to the Motorola Droid and love it. Great screen, internet access either cell or wireless with a good browser (not like the kludgey Treo browser), Google GPS navigation.
I also wanted a phone on the Verizon network, so iPhone was out.
