Returning to RE full-time
Wondering which of all your designations has given you the best ROI. If you had to choose, which designation has done more for your marketing and lead generation? Love to hear your thoughts.

I do not place value to NAR endorsed designations.
My own experience is that it's more gobbligook consumers don't know/care about. Other people's mileage may vary.
I do not care for the term " leads". I work with people.
I do know that some agents are more likely to refer out of state/area business to another agent, who holds the same designation.

I agree with MAM's take on designations. I have ABR, GRI & wife has her CRS also.
All of these we did for us, to make us better agents and to add to our education. Not sure any of them have generated much business. I would start with ABR since many starting agents tend to work with more buyers than sellers.

I took the ABR, back when, for CE and chose not to establish membership in yet another trade association, just so I could use it.

MAM brings up a good point. If you get the designation, you have to pay annually to keep it. You have to decide if you want to do that.

I have made more than $17,000 in referrals from other ePRO's in the last two years. I just place one to an ePRO in FLA.
People do business with people the know like and trust. Or they do business with people who know people they know like and trust.
I'd start with your GRI. It is a certification. Pay for it once, use it over an over again.

Most of the designations are there to charge you a renewal fee year to year. I think the one that matters most is the broker's designation. For the most part, the general public has no idea and really doesn't care what all those letters mean. The public knows what a broker is. And yes, I do have a couple of those mostly useless designations.
If you want to increase business take a sales based course like Acceleration or Top Gun and/or do coaching with Real Estate Champions or the Buffini program or something along those lines.

Certifications are pay once and use over and over.
Designations are pay for the education once and the membership annually.
NAR membership is an annual thing.
Licenses are state issued and come in either salesman or broker varieties.

2b is right of course. The post probably would have been better if simply typed:
"If you want to increase your business go with a sales based training course or coaching rather than getting some certifications/designations."
