Oh dear...that is funny...Koi with alfredo sauce??
I really didn't want the appliances of the people who lived here...they were clean people but still. We got some good deals from Best Buy, I would rather have something that had not been used by someone else.

When we made an offer on this house it was pretty quickly accepted. The house needed work and all new appliances, which we were prepared to do. When we looked at the house the paint colors were bad, it was dirty and we knew we would have lots of work to do.
At closing the sellers agent said that the owner was so happy that we bought his house, it was a huge load off his mind, and he, without asking, had painted every wall in the house as a housewarming gift. I couldn't wait.
Sure enough, every wall, and I mean EVERY WALL and all woodwork had been freshly painted; with a yellow/beige flat color. He had used a roller and got it all over the corners between walls and ceilings had smeared onto the ceiling. It was awful, but comical.
We painted immediately in our own palette, but we couldn't help but think how good it probably had made him feel. It actually saved us a base coat!

lol- Lisa- and royal blue? That might be a Florida thing- at our Boca house there was a hunter green (3rd bedroom/den). In NY and Florida people leave all the appliances. To the above post saying I should have put that in the offer- our realtor (who was useless) told us in Tennessee people take their appliances. The price made up for it-lol.

Sad thing is the poor fish died the following winter. We never had koi before and didn't know we were supposed to make sure a portion of the pond didn't freeze over, the whole thing froze and the fish died. OPPS!

As bad as that paint job sounds how sweet of the seller to do that. You have to give the person credit for trying.

The only appliances that come with the house in NC are built in or intentionally left by the seller. Same way in MI. We got the range/dishwasher/microwave cause all were built in.
I LEFT the fridge/washer/dryer as well as the slide in range (which I could have taken) and the built in microwave and dishwasher when we moved from MI. My range from MI would not have worked here, It was gas and my house here is all electric. The range here is VERY cheap. We will be replacing it next spring.
As to the wall paint...it's a darker builder beige...all over. We will one day repaint but it's not in this year's budget. considering some of the houses we saw, this one had very little to complain about.
The yard on the other hand needs some SERIOUS help. Apparently she was NOT into gardening. Liz

The guy we bought our house from drove us nuts. We and everyone else involved in the transaction were so fed up with him at the end of it all, that by closing we couldn't wait to get it over with. Our realtor, our lawyer, US, and I even think his family was getting sick of his antics. He was always late for some kind of meeting or reply or something. He went on vacation for a month DURING the whole process. It was crazy.
We bought the house as is and offered asking price. How much easier could it have been? The house was on the market for a year.
We find out a month after closing that he didn't pay for many months of water bills. We had to pay it or get the water shut off.
Almost forgot... he didin't hire a lawyer. "Didn't need one"...
Anyway, at closing we're sitting down at the table, he looks at me smiling and says "So... are you all excited buying your first home?"
I looked at him and replied "Quite frankly sir, this has been the most difficult and frustrating, and exhausting, business transaction I've ever had to go through in my life, and it has not been a pleasant experience at all with all the delays and the feet dragging that has been done."
He was silent for the rest of the closing.
No, we hadn't signed anything yet. Honestly, at that point, I wouldn't have cared.

We also had "difficult" sellers during the purchase of our home many years ago. I'll never forget having to reschedule the walk through twice because the seller was suffering a panic attack at the thought of leaving the home (mind you, they had only lived there a few years). But, as if that wasn't enough, our agent told us that the sellers wanted to know if we'd petsit their 5 exotic big birds while they lived in temporary quarters. All I could think of was the awful carpet we were planning to replace ASAP (the one in the area were the birds had had free reign). The house was filthy dirty when we took possession, including rotten food in the fridge and leftovers in the microwave. Considering how difficult they were throughout the whole process, I couldn't believe they would even impose with the petsitting request.

The master bath was army green which on its own was OK however it was connected to the master bedroom which was Jade green...it was like a sickening walk down the shades of green walk way...
The Royal blue took a couple coats of Killz to get rid of as did the blood red that was all over...AND in odd illogical places.
