I am in the process of purchasing a home and will be doing my inspection in the coming week. I am going to be using Judge Inspection LLC. He comes highly recommended from various friends and family members that have used him in recent years.

Go to American Society of Home Inspectors, ASHI and do a "search for Inspector" for your area. Then call a few on the list and interview them. Find out how long they have been inspecting homes (not in "building industry" which is code for JUST STARTED).
Find out how they feel about you being there during the inspection. YOU REALLY NEED TO BE THERE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.
Ask them for any references and then call them.
Good luck

Funny how a company like Judge doesn't prominently feature an inspector's name and NJ license on the website, as required by NJ law. It may be there somewhere if you really search.

I am just purchasing my first home, so I am new to this.. Is it true that it is supposed to say that? I have a bunch of friends and family that have used his services. It says he is a member of NACHI...

Nachi is not a well respected organization. Most Nachi members are newer. It's a good marketing tool, though.

Yes, the inspector's license # and address (not a PO Box) are supposed to be on every card, brochure, website, etc. The inspection vehicle should have required signage if commercial, or a state issued placard visible, if privately registered. A lot inspectors can't even follow these basic requirements.

In the Woodbridge area?

I'm happier since I left them.
