Honey, pack up the kids - I found THE house!

World's Most Expensive Home Completed, Valued at $1 Billion - Real Estate Channel Global News Center

Quote:
A 27-story single-family residential tower recently finished in Mumbai almost certainly vanquishes all pretenders to the throne of world's most expensive private home, with a price tag estimated at somewhere close to $1 billion.

Built by Mukesh Ambani, the chief executive of Reliance Industries, the home reaches new levels of decadence, with three helipads, swimming pools, four-story "hanging gardens" and a six-story parking garage. Dubbed "Antilla," the 173-meter tall mansion also includes a 50-seat cinema, ballroom, gym and every room is custom designed.

Just goes to show that money can't buy you taste. To each his own I guess. Hopefully the family enjoys it and they never lose it.

I agree it looks horrible. I wonder if they would even be allowed to build something that big that looks so ridiculous?

Our height limit on single family homes here in Oregon isn't sounding like such a bad idea now. Not sure I'd want to live next to that tower.

It's overblown extreme wealth, gone crazy. I wonder what Reliance Industries is? Now my curiousity has gotten the better part of me, and I will have to check.

Other than the scale of course, it looks like a media storage tower for cd's, dvd's, video tapes, etc.
