Sorry Dressy. It looks like there's no more easy solutions. It looks like you're now in the same situation I was before selling my house, just ignoring somebody for however many years it takes for you or them to move out. Or you can escalate it to the court system.

How did you get over it? Was it hard? Did you just get used to ignoring him?

Hehe.. I was entertaining my neighbor and all his tenants with updates from public radio (very educational) all through the morning and then switched to a very optimistic rock songs. hope they like them. Especially the tenants upstairs. Off course it is all within city ordinance decibels limits and hours ))))))
I was working in the garden and it was fun to have music and news. Enjoyed it. The day was very sunny. I am glad they are not my friends now, so I do not have to be nice.

Why would you not leave up your original post to the benefit of others who may run into similar situations in the future.

I know of two upscale homes( $300K) that share a driveway entrance and a third of their driveway. I just never got how anybody could pay for a house like that and then have to share a driveway. It was just the way they sandwiched in the lots.

One of my relatives had a house where they owned the very long driveway, but the neighbor had an easement to use it - so in effect the neighbor got the driveway for free and never had to do any of the upkeep on it. Definitely a good deal for the neighbor! And my relative liked it just fine as well, because it was totally up to him when he repaved, etc. He didn't have to get the neighbor's permission, and agree on the finances - he could just take care of it as he saw fit.

I think situations like that are fairly common in areas with larger lots and custom houses. It's not as nice and neat as it is with suburban lots, but that's okay!
