Strange Showing.......
I'm not complaining because a showing is a showing and they are rare as hen's teeth here! But it is really odd.
Got a call from my realtor on Sunday. He said he had gotten a call from some people in San Diego who were flying in to see my house. His son(also an agent) was picking them up at the airport and would bring them out that afternoon. Well we cleaned up the house and left for the showing. Of course we had to take a look and see what was going on. They weren't in the house long, only 20 min or so.
I called my realtor today and he was mystified too. They met his son at the airport with a letter saying they were prequalified then said almost nothing all the way up to my house. An hour and a half drive. They said nothing when they went through the house or on the way back to the airport. No opinions, loved it, hated it......nothing. No questions. Today they got a call from the prospective buyers asking our agent to fax copies of the disclosure and listing. And that's it.
What do you think is going on? Is this as odd as it seems to me?

They flew in just to view your house, then left? Right back to the airport, no other showings?

they are keeping their cards very close to their vest. I would be surprised if you didn't see an offer. If they are asking for additional information, that is usually good news. Of course, I don't believe it until I see it : )
Sending you good selling vibes.

That does seem very odd that they were that quiet...I have picked up potential clients at the airport and it seems they can't stop talking about what there is to do and see, telling me all about their plans, etc. Is the son of your agent good at dealing with people? Maybe they thought he was too young? Were they from another country where maybe they're suspicious of real estate agents? There has to be some reason why there was a lack of communication. Keep us posted on whether or not they make an offer!

Great they are interested, have a prequal letter,I have had buyer like that, they seem to know what they are doing. Have some interest, need to check further with the disclosures. If they like it,
they may make the offer,
they may get a physical inspector
they may want to open escrow or
say good bye
Are they Asians?

Don't know about their ethnicity, didn't ask. They flew out JUST to look at our house. Or else their real plans were well hidden. The agent picked them up at the airport and dropped them off at the airport. He didn't take them to see any other homes and they didn't ask about any. No one actually saw them get on or off a plane. The letter was from a national mortgage company and the area code on caller ID was San Diego. Their fax number was a San Diego area code.
This is just so different. I've always relied on my agent for lots of local information and there's no way I would sit in a car for 3 hours and not be trying to learn as much as possible about the area.
My agents son is something in the area of 45yo and has been in RE for 15 years. He does seem to be a salesperson and he is easy to converse with. Normal RE agent. Happy to meet me, positive, optimistic. The only negative thing I can say about him is that my dog despises him and would love to take him out. My dog has never had this reaction with anyone else.

Dogs are very perceptive, I personally wouldn't trust anyone who my dog hated but that's just me.

One more thought
H and I are discussing this out on the patio.
It's likely these people paid 1K to fly out and look for 20 min. It's not likely they got a frequent flyer ticket on a holiday weekend. It's also not likely the tickets were purchased in advance because our agent didn't get much notice either.
Maybe they work for an airline?
When I fly out to look at homes, I plan everything and try to fit in as much as possible.

Sounds like a Seinfeld episode. Maybe they were mistrustful because it was the agent's own listing, but why would they have called him then?
Re: dog's perceptions.....my dog has LOUSY perception. The only stranger in the driveway she was ever friendly to was someone who hit his gf.

I think they know the neighborhood or something about it already, saw the house on the net or someone they know there told them about it, they flew out to physically see it and it's what they want. Happens here (Florida) all the time.
