I'm not sure why you think you weren't informed. It apparently was in the agreement you signed, right? Did you not read it before you signed?

It would have been helpful if your agent had reviewed this with you before signing, but people should also take time to read and understand these documents before they sign. Ask questions about clauses not understood.

OP, you can go to the agent's broker and ask for another agent.
