We are in the state of Missouri. We bought a house in March and the seller left a tractor. I am wondering who now has rights to the tractor?

If this isn't in the right place I apoligize.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Change the oil, tune it up, sharpen the blades and go mow.

Go to the library or look online for the Missouri AVM (abandon vehicel manual) dated Oct 2011. It will tell you exactly how long to wait and what steps you must do to get rid of it or claim it as your own. Follow the law and fill out the form and you will become the official legal owner. Note, the tractor is considered a "motor vehicle" so its not the same as finding an old camera or TV and wondering if you own it.

??? Why wouldn't you simply call the seller and ask if they intended to leave it??

It is an extremely old tractor. It is not a titled vehicle in any way. Can not be drove on roads. Used for brush hogging only. I would guess it to be a 1950's or older. I think it is a fergusan.
