I don't think any wondering is necessary.

Is it just me, but when I watch HGTV, most of their potential buyers are homosexual. Just an observation.

If you are talking about house hunters, then yes, it is just you.

Not entirely true or false.
What is true is that the HH population is NOT representative of the overall USA house-buying public.
My wife and I laugh that the ideal HGTV couple is: multi-ethnic with some adopted children from yet another culture; spouse one is a injured war vet; spouse two is very cute; the children are adorable.

I watch it. I enjoy seeing the homes.

It is mostly scripted. I know. HH came to my office and taped a couple of segments.

The agent from my office was told WHAT to say but not HOW to say it. So...some of the things the buyers say are their own words.

I was asked by a builder if I would ask my buyers (we had just gone under contract) if they would mind if their house was featured on HH as one that the buyers didn't buy. Before we could answer, builder decided he didn't want to be featured as the house that the buyers didn't choose!
