Just to throw this in here, to show how ridiculous condo parking can get. I had one spot in front of my place and the other was directly across in front of my neighbors place. His second spot was four units down the driveway. These were the actual legal spots. It had to do with the size and layout of each unit that faced the parking in front. There were more than adequate parking spaces for everyone including many guest spaces.

In our case, common sense prevailed and we all worked it out. No need for lawyers. If a newbie moved in, our immediate conversation was about parking!

Sadly it sounds as if your friend did not read the documents (as another poster said) and signed on the dotted line. I don't know if there is any recourse after the fact.

From your description, your friend was screwed, but I doubt there is legal evidence to prove.
