Elle Zober describes herself as "scorned" and "slightly bitter." And the recently divorced Oregon woman hopes those feelings of resentment will help her sell a house.

Local Fox affiliate KPTV reports that the For Sale sign in Zober's front yard reads, "Husband left us for a 22-year-old. House for sale by scorned, slightly bitter, newly single owner."

Reminds me of the story of the newly divorced woman who had to sell her house. She moved out and left shrimp shells in the curtain rods. Took forever to find where the smell was coming from.

Yes, because it's obviously the buyer's fault that she got divorced and had to sell her house. No wonder...

She didn't have to sell her house, her ex got it in the divorce settlement and she left the shrimp in the curtain rods. After awhile, he and his mistress could not stand the smell anymore, put it on the market with a hugely discounted price, so the wife swooped in and bought it. The husband and his mistress took the curtain rods with them because they didn't want the ex wife to have anything. Smart woman the wife is .

Gotta love those woman scorned stories.

Snopes.com says the story has been reported as being told as early as 1978. And has circulated in writing since the mid 90s. So it may or may not have actually happened at some point, but didn't originate recently in any case.

Didn't say it was recent. I heard it years ago on a local news story. Still funny though.
