I was told a previous owner had a gaggle of kids, so thats why all this weirdness.
Whoa.. now that is weird. I had a summer house with sinks in three of the 4 bedrooms. It had been part of a turn of the century beach club.

But toilets??

Ah.. I know.................super huge 1/2 baths. They aren't bedrooms at all!

Now.. the hall situation............that IS weird.

The ONLY place I've come across full on weirdness like this was while vacationing in Europe. I've seen bathtubs / jacuzzis in Bedrooms in the U.S. before- but never toilets just out in the open here! That's... different!

So you walk a few steps to a sink to wash your hands. Big deal.

Space?
If space is an issue, why build the toilet?

How much additional does a toilet AND a sink require in terms of space?

Have you ever installed a toilet into an existing structure?
I suspect not.

Becuase the bacteria that cause food poising are mostly residents of the intestines and the fecal/oral route spreads a lot of diease. You really want to reduce the amount of e-coli in your kicthen, not increase it.

I'll let you in on a little secret: The e-coli bacteria wash down the drain when you wash your hands.

The ones on your hands do.
Think about what else was touched before they get to that point.

Not just *you*... everyone else who might use that toilet.

I've thought about having them removed, but since I'm old, thinking the one in my room might come in handy someday. Guess I could put up a privacy screen...

Still does not answer the question. Why install only a toilet in an existing structure?
