I painted my kitchen purple (pretty girly purple) right after hubby and I moved into our new home. He didn't mind it until his friends started to give their opinion on him having a purple kitchen and that was the end of my purple pretty kitchen.
Hubby picked the exterior color of the house (brown and red shutters) because he said since i'm painting it i get to pick. We just finished painting the house again after 7 years of living with ugly brown (well, fine, hubby painted it again ) BUT i picked the colors. Everyone in our neighborhood has stopped to comment on how wonderful the new color looks and how it's SO much better than the ugly brown we had. THAT'S why hubby doesn't pick paint colors.

I painted my master bathroom hot pink to prove a point to my husband. He said men didn't notice colors, nor did they care. Boy, he surely didn't miss the hot pink though. I kept it only about 6 months though since our house is on the market now. Was told it was not neutral. DUH!!!!!

LOL - I don't think I'd get one drop of hot pink on my walls before my husband noticed!

That is awesome! We are moving into a home that needs some paint work on the inside. Asked my husband if he wanted to go up to Home Depot & look at paint swatches. He looked at me as if I had just told him he needed to go for a colonoscopy. He said "Guys don't get into that stuff". And "I'm not good at deciding things like paint colors". Ok, then, you just basically handed me a blank check & told me to go shopping

Had someone through the other day that commented that "the living room would need to be repainted because of the color, we'd probably have to knock the price down a few thousand dollars".....(it's a very light taupe color, very neutral), we told them that if they bought the house we'd be happy to give them a $50 paint allowance because that was all it would take to change it! I get SO tired of the arrogance of the buyers at times!

Love it!! I paint different colors-can do a room in a day and have it all put back together by 5:00 like nothing's happened. I wait, Hubbie comes home. Nothing. Doesn't notice a thing's different-the only clue is "what have you done, I smell paint". Now that's clueless.
