Default How long to keep a realtor?

How long is a reasonable amount of time to let a realtor try and sell your home? We are in a 6 month contract, but can break it at any time. That seems too long to me to let one realtor try and sell your home. We have followed her advice for price, and have even asked her if we should lower it several times, and she says no. 3 months on the market, and no offers. We have had probably 20 showings , most with all positive feedback, and nothing about the price, except from one realtor who thought it was priced very competitively and thought it should sell quickly, that was more than a month ago. Should we keep letting our current realtor sell it, or switch now before the holidays? Also, she does not have enhanced listings or a virtual tour on realtor.com, is that a big deal? She has advertised in the real estate book and has it on mls. Is all that enough in this market? Am I being too hard on her, or should I be seeing more? I would appreciate any thoughts. Confused on what to do. We are in Greenville SC , if that helps.

Thanks, Liz

PS Sorry to ramble on

Liz, you need to find out what the days on the market are for your area. While my husband & I didn't want to do a 6 month contract we did since our agent said we can cancel at any time.

The market is bad in most areas, people are taking their time. The fact that you had traffic in your house is good.

The realtor.com listing can be hurting you, especially if people from out of state are the norm to buy in your area.

Here is a real estate blog for your area

20 showings would be huge in our market, I think you're probably on the right track. Your motivation in selling your home is an important factor, if you're competitive on the price that's good, I would think that if you're the lowest priced home then you're the winner. Lot's of golfers are competitive, but Tiger usually takes the trophy
