Surbiton,

You really need a new hobby. Obsessing about the Zestimates will shorten your life due to the unneeded stress it seems to be causing you. Complaining on this forum will accomplish nothing.

The ones that are overvalued probably offset the ones that are under. Zillow should offer a paid service to people like you to jack up the Zestimate on your house for a fee. What would you pay for a 15% overvaluation?

I've never paid attention to a Zestimate. As someone in the market right now I use Zillow moreso because they have a good map feature to show where in town the properties are. Since we are looking in different nearby towns it helps to get an idea of location. Although sometimes they are way off and a home will show up but is actually 4 towns over.

My parents have lived in the same house in Wayland, MA since 1962.
It does not exist on Zillow.
The satellite image shows the house.
Zillow shows the lot lines.
But, no house.
Way too funny.

I'm not sure if you ever answered, but was any of the actual information about your home that goes into the algorithm incorrect? Did you try to have the information itself updated (without yelling at them for harassing you because their number that no one cares about was too low)?

Also, is a lot of the information about homes in your area public?

A Realtor dispensing medical advice - how novel

Visiting this forum once a week is hardly "obsessing". In MHO "obsessing" is the need for someone to feel so self important that they have to give their opinion to anyone and everyone irrespective of the topic in hand or whether the comments add any value to the conversation.

The title of this thread "Has anyone been successful in getting an erroneous Zestimate corrected?" is a reasonable question to ask on a Real estate Forum, especially considering the controversy that surrounds zestimates and their inaccuracy. Even Zillow accept that they are inaccurate and that 17% of them are more than 25% wrong. So far it seems that no one has been successful in getting Zillow to correct or delete an erroneous zestimate, and that in itself is a serious problem when they publish 110 million zestimates and 20 million are more than 25% incorrect.

Interesting that you say that "complaining on this forum will accomplish nothing". My view is that educating other readers on the subject is an accomplishment itself. Also, history teaches us that appeasement doesn't work, and ignoring Zillows nonsense zestimates is a form of appeasement. Look what happened in 1938 when Neville Chamberlain made his peace for our time speech and the very next day Adolf Hitler invaded Sudetenland. So much for his agreement with Mr Hitler. Well Mr Rascoff the Zillow CEO needs to know that he can't impose unwanted and inaccurate zestimates on 110 million homes and not expect to get criticism when he refuses all reasonable requests to correct errors when his website is more famous for its errors rather than useful information.

And yet, the answer was provided many pages ago and you felt it was necessary to keep piling on to it. As to the original question, THE ANSWER IS "NO" !!!

Was that clear enough ??

Default Godwin's Law

In only 76 posts in a real-estate forum.
Awesome.

Would it be inappropriate of me to say that if Sarah Palin were President, that Zestimates would be accurate?

Well...now that you've pointed out how Zillow is like Hitler, maybe everyone will finally wake up to the real threat posed by Zillow! Achtung!

Well read this thread I just saw an hour ago on the Zillow Advice Forum and draw your own conclusions. It is outrageous that Zillow allow such personal attacks on homeowners legitimately asking questions on the right of Zillow to publish information on their home. My case rests.

Who is this 'Pasadenan' who attacks homeowners obviously with Zillows blessing as he has made over 25,000 posts. Same with 'wetdawgs' with 37000 patronizing posts. The Zillow Advice Forum is an embarrassment to any Nasdaq listed company with a $1.83Bn market capitalization. It is more like a mafia advice forum the way homeowners are attacked and treated to snide and snarky comments. You could not make this up
