I just had a contract executed yesterday and I can't imagine doing it the "old fashioned" way with in-person paper signing--it would have been so much more work! The client lived over 100 miles away and merely printed the purchase offer onto paper, signed it and scanned it into a pdf. Purchaser e-mailed it to me; I e-mailed it to the Selling broker and Seller; and we had an executed purchase agreement completed within 40 minutes...and most of that time was devoted to writing a persuasive cover letter.

See I don't like this method either, I'm talking about a 100% electronic method. No printing of paper at all, using something like authentisign which I love or docusign.

When we sold/bought in 2011 it was all electronic.
The docs were on a website. We signed (we have a Wacom tablet so it was easier than using a mouse). Then I "printed" a PDF for my records.
It was done using CTMeContracts.com

Better than emailing PDFs to be signed:
1. The "fill in the blank" items are in bright blue so they are obvious
2. The standard part of the doc cannot be changed. (If you send me a PDF, you have no guarantee that I won't edit it to my advantage.)

As a consumer, I would not have it any other way.

Yes, that can be preferable...but the Purchasers still wanted a paper copy for their regular files, as well as a digital version to be kept on their computer. The Seller used docusign but the Purchaser was unable to do so. This hybrid method worked.

EDIT: This was not a "fill-in-the-blank" contract.
