I thought about your family this weekend. I opened our Sunday paper here in Orlando and out dropped a BIG flyer by Centex about slashing prices, $5,000 of incentives. . . I'm glad it worked out for you!!

My agent and I looked at comps and this is a great value for the area. Even though the home won't be ready until March, it was considered an inventory home (b/c upgrades are already chosen). I think that helped with getting a deal.

We are going to sign the contract tomm. Hopefully no complications between now and closing!

YaY!!!

Blue, that was what happened to us. They'd slashed the prices in the final phase of their estate community here. So we are in about 100K to 150K below the neighbors who bought at the height of madness. We are at the top of our budget, but felt it was worth it for the investment and the property...

So when we got the $15+K off in additional to their pricing discounts, we were very happy!

I'm so happy you got it all worked out. Our house is to be ready in March too.. so we're on the same schedule!

Default Congrats

Congratulations even though I'm jealous. My family and I are getting to relocate next month and plan to buy within the next 6 months. I'm open to both resale and new construction but lately, I've seen huge prices drops in new construction homes. For example, a house that was $330 is now $250. Isn't that insane? I can't keep feeling like I'm going to miss my opportunity. I know, I know......patience. The same deals will be offered when it's time for us to buy. I guess I'm still confused as to the different terminology of new home construction. I know there are pre-construction homes, pre-inventory homes?? What other terminology are in new home construction? From what I've seen, the price reductions are being given on homes already built. The only thing about this, you have to take it as it is but hey, a home that was originally priced over $300k will have what I wanted in a house anyway. This is such an exciting times in our lives, espeically for first time home buyers as myself. I'm still jealous.. LOL.
