I agree. With their 3% on a $500,000 sale they have just made $15,000 from you. That is payment enough, why would anyone want to buy them a gift?

Well, I'm obviously in the minority here.

We gave our last agent $500 extra because they'd really gone the extra mile for us.

Full commission and $500? I've never known anyone to turn down free money. If you're just throwing money away, I'd gladly take some off your hands.

No, but our last buyer's agent called us up a few months after we closed with tickets to a coveted college football game. I have recommended him to many and will absolutely use him again when it's time to move. Would have done so without the tickets, but it was a nice bonus.

399 -- Do for me what the agent did and we'll talk. In the meantime, my money, my decision.

If a gift is given to the buyer's agent, then share a few examples please. Thank you.
Personally I expect a Thank You gift from them. They made the money on the deal.

I gave my agent some restaurant gift cards. It's ok to be nice to people. I'm not sure why you need approval from the internet to do so.

Negative commission?? It cost the agent to close the sale???
