Do most buyers give a gift to their buyer's agents after closing?
If a gift is given to the buyer's agent, then share a few examples please. Thank you.

Default Yes!

It is called a commission check.
It would never occur to me to give him/her something.
I would expect him/her to give me a bottle of wine ($15 or less).

Yes, that too. But how about gift cards or game tickets? That sort of extra gift on top of commission. Does it usually happen?

No, it does not usually happen. It is not at all expected.

If you are the type of person who enjoys giving gifts because you find giving gifts satisfying, and you are very happy with the agent, then go for it.
An unexpected gift from the heart is always a pleasure to the recipient.

I think generally it works the other way around. The buyer's agent gives them a gift as closing.

Yes, I was going to say...the buyers' agent's portion of about 3% of the sales price.

And, yes, the buyer's agent brings a thank you/housewarming gift depending on custom.

However, I know of stituations where the sales price was low, just to finally get it to contract and to close the realtor/realtors forewent some commission and contributed to some expense that had to be done and this couple was never going to be able to find a house otherwise. And those buyers have given thoughtful gifts within their means to their realtor.

And the person whose filandering ex spouse who pretended he was making mortgage payments but spending the money on affairs instead whom I located and the long calls and faxes of a bunch of inspections to bigger VA office to save her credit and home sale when the local VA didn't want to even wait for it to go to closing and the other realtor was taking a lower commission and my friend the listing agent was getting a negative commission...listed it very low as a helpful friend and spent more than the commission by closing...now that person didn't even say thank you.

Personally, I just prefer referrals!! Our business is driven by referrals from our clients, and that's worth more than a plant that will die.

When I do receive a gift, it's usually for my kids like books or stickers. The kids love that stuff!

???? It's a gift.

Why would anyone ever give a gift to any other person under any circumstances?

We plan on buying our next house before our current house sells. Our gift will be letting them then become the seller agent for us.
