Just saw this above written to me here.
I feel like there is another layer of protection for me in choosing someone already primed with the rules and regs and Code of Ethics. Sure I still have to be detailed and check and recheck myself but it is helpful in a few ways. Sure, some Realtors you wonder how they got there but many I know have really put in the effort to achieve. Seems like an interest in doing the right thing may be as strong as the interest in not being reported to a board.
I know some state's requirements of Realtors can be tougher than the national standards. I used to know great honorable real estate agents and then there seems to have been a push on for all realtor boards in many areas. I just happen to know Realtors whose only personal income is from real estate so they achieved more 'initials' over time as part of that interest and drive. CRS, Broker, etc are good. I don't care whether they have the stager designation.
I have not yet come to a situation where there were real estate agents in an area combined with a house I just had to have.
