I've lived near a chocolate factory and the fragrance was wonderful (it was also a high-quality, fair-trade, organic operation). I wouldn't pay a premium, but it was pretty nice to have the scent of cocoa in the air.

I tend to think pervasive/constant smells would be bad in general. I myself prefer a no scent so a constant chocolate scent would be annoying. But others like a constant scent of something so they might love it. (the ones with candles, plug ins, room fresheners etc)
