Thanks, will check it out. Just assumed it was the same-ish as Google so I never bothered w/ it.

Totally different. The Google satellite view is like you're looking straight down. Bing's Birds Eye is a view from an angle so everything looks 3D.

Best example I've seen of this: There's a nice looking house from a list site in the city we're looking to move to. I viewed it on Google Streetview and saw that the second floor was half burnt out in their 2013 images.

I know some places have really old images, but my town was updated this year with crisp images.

Streetview will tell you the image date in the corner.

Yesterday a buyer's agent and her client wanted to schedule an appointment for a showing, and my seller wasn't home, so they drove by and decided they didn't want to see the inside anymore. Seriously could have saved a trip if they drove by on the internet.
Oh well, on the plus side, I didn't have to show the house.

google actually has the same angle view for many locations if you zoom in enough. there's a 45* setting in the upper right corner menu in Classic Google Maps.

Very ture. Often times Google Street isnt up to date though. Things could look much better or much worse. My house isnt even on google street view, and The house has been here for 3+ years.

Bing maps has "streeside" Very similar. Not as many streets, but useful in some cities.

Good to view, I agree, but nothing like driving down the street. With bing or google images could be 5 years old.

Not really. None of the satellite images are necessarily current. And we all know that things change.

The Google tilt function is similar to Bing's Birds Eye view but birds eye is still a better view IMO. The angle seems to be lower.

We did use it, but we prefer the birds eye view from Bing. We also used satellite view.

Keep in mind, Google street view doesn't go into every street, at least here in this area. Maybe more urban areas are more covered.

It's pretty common actually. When I built my previous house in 2010, the entire development was missing from Google Maps and all of the imagery. I contacted them and a few months later we existed. That development was already 7 years old when I started building my house.

Here we are 4 years later and my best friend across the street is still a dirt lot. They've lived there for over 4 years....and not on a pile of dirt! They also built a house.
