Ahh, are you a direct lender or a broker - because I am under the impression you make half of your fee (commission) from rebates you get from the lender. Right?
How many agents call you with prospective clients, who do think did all the work getting them?
I am also, as noted, a firm believer in the free enterprise system and that includes disclosure....
Ok, so your loan officers rely on you for their business. I do not rely on real estate agents for my business. I get business from them but I do just fine without them. Not to mention I send business to the agents I work with so this really doesn't apply to me personally. Thanks for your post!
Okay so it is now March 17, 2009 and on a loan officer forum I see this post by a loan officer:
I just closed a 95% purchase..Hybird @ 5.5% & 1 Pt. etc. The realtor claims I over charged her client. She stated that Chase has 4.875 Hybird to 95% for only $100 in fee with No Points and free appraisal. So tell me is she blowing smoke and using mirrors or is this a fact? Help if you know. Thanks in advance
To all agents that insist you don't so this here is one of many occurences.
Real estate is full of scams. Agents, title insurance, mortgage brokers, closing 'costs'...
It should involve a seller, a buyer, and a bank. How all these other clowns got involved is beyond me.
