We once owned a beach condo that was 800 s.f. Living room was big enough for a sofa, coffee table, TV, small bookcase, and two comfy chairs. (A recliner might have been problematic.) Kitchen had notmuch counter space, but did fit a dishwasher and a table with 4 chairs.

There were two bedrooms. One barely fit a full-size bed. No room for dresser, but a 4-foot closet. The second bedroom accommodated twin beds plus a dresser and another small closet. The bathroom was about as small as it could be, but it worked.

One of the saving graces of the place was that it had an 8'x10' screened porch. I don't think that was part of the 800 s.f. but I'm not sure. The other was that it was cathedral ceilings throughout, so the airiness helped compensate for the low square footage.

I don't know how it would be to live in a space that small full-time. I guess we'd turn the smaller bedroom into a storage area. If you wanted to be able to invite overnight company, I can't quite imagine how that would work.

That's a plenty big enough house. Looks in good shape also.
We currently have now a 1952 Jim Walters house...but it has been added on to several times.

I don't believe you will have problems with the actual square footage, though a shed or attic space might come in handy. I love the big front window by the way.

What I think will be a problem is noise. If one person wants to blast the TV or rock the music, the other will have no escape. If you can come to some agreement on how to handle that, I think all will be well.

It says it was built in 1972. The windows in the rest of the house are high. Wonder why that is ? I really think it will work but I HAVE to see it first. There is a storage shed, a new one. I will see the size of the bedrooms when I get down there. I was hoping at least for a queen bed in one room. Yes I love the big window in the living room. It would be our house and we could just turn the living room to our master bedroom! I'm getting excited now ! really want to see this up close and personal.

The size of the house is actually not as important as the floor plan and how much stuff you have in my opinion.

I know we would have to pare down a lot but I have no clue what 800sq feet looks like. Can anyone tell me how small it is by comparing it to something and does anyone live in 800sq ft or under? Thanks
Ive lived in both places. Believe me, after 6 months of Florida, you are going to re-evaluate what your idea of joke-worthy is. A horrible, cultureless void unless your idea of culture is malls, COPS and Gurls GoneWild fiming. But, I digress . . . In the hell known as Florida, we lived in quite comfortably(size wise) inthree places, all sub 800 ft. I would not call 800sq ft a tiny house. I consider a tiny house 250 and under. 700-800 sq ft is fairly standard living area size for Florida, at least in the 3 places I lived, there.
