If you're trying to decide between vinyl or tile for the bathroom floor, might I suggest real linoleum? It's both appropriate for a house the age of yours as well as extremely durable and practical. I have commercial grade sheet linoleum in my 1927 bathroom (have had for 9 years so far), and it's wonderful - east to clean, seamless, and is comfortable on feet.

I think I'll go with tile floor in the bathroom after pricing it. I always assumed it would be thousands.
