I think that Real Estate might be the one thing I go crazy with...Maybe a beach place in FL, but definitely lots and lots of hunting land, likely in several locations.

I would have a garage sale and sell everything not personal, sell the house, store what I wanted to keep and then rent whatever property I wanted to live in in whatever country I wanted to live in for that month. Each month or so I would pick a new spot and I would do that until I figured out where I wanted to build or buy a permanent residence.

It would be somewhere new. Its unrealistic to assume you would be able to live anywhere near where you grew up or currently live or are known.

Its unrealistic to assume you would be able to maintain any type of business that you are directly involved in.

You would get sued and hounded by anyone and everyone that knew you and/or where you lived.

After a few years though, if you were to move into a new location, with a new name.....well then your just some rich person that moved into an area with a lot of other rich people.
I talked with a "significant winner" who was from somewhere in NE but was passing time in the Fla Keys by fishing with pros while waiting for the dust to settle and figure out his next move.

Said he had people walk up and punch him and try to get into car accidents with him, and that was just in the first couple of days before he got out of town. As I understand it you can legally change your identification to a new name, SS# etc that cannot be revealed without a court order

There is a 10 acre lot north of about a mile I've been eyeballing for a while so I'd pull the trigger on that. I would then put up a 12 foot wall around it and put two single family homes on it, one for my dad. After that I would pay off the rest of the mortgages I have and hire a PM to take care of them and do nothing until I die. Basically speed up what my plans are now by about 20 years or so.

Unfortunately I don't think anyone who wins this powerball can remain incognito if they stay where they are! so I guess we'd have to pack up and buy a place with a lot more security in a tropical location. Then a lot of investment properties for future income. I am nondescript looking enough that if I got a new name, changed up the hair and started wearing glasses/very different make up and moved elsewhere hardly anyone would recognize me after the initial news cycle, IMHO.

The line was long at the grocery store today for the lotto counter, so I didn't have time to buy any tickets!
