I read once somewhere that once they get that old they leak dangerous levels of radiation into the water.. Possibly even reaching Fukushima or Chernobyl levels!

They leak water.

Home ownership is overwhelming? I'll trade you then...I rent and it's absolutely horrible based on my 20 or so years of doing in it for a whole laundry list of reasons.
At least you own something and you have the freedom to do what you want in your home. You also reap the rewards financially with a future sale of it vs paying some elses mortgage.
