I know someone who has an all electric house. Their electric bill is more than double my gas and electric bill combined.

I have electric baseboard heat, in South Jersey. I love it. Mine are the kind with the liquid that runs thru them. Clean, no maintenance or upkeep - just clean them - easily.

I've never had an electric bill over $400, but i set mine room-by-room. I dont like it hot. I also have a wood-buring fireplace, and a propane one - which i don't use that often. My house is 1,344 sq ft, a rancher.

(I do have central air.)

Hi there, I also have electric baseboard. Does yours make noise when it starts up and begins heating? Mine tends to make crackling noises, which I believe is just the metal parts expanding. Slightly annoying, but when you need the heat, it is welcome.

I live in a 700 sq. ft. condo just east of Princeton and my highest bill has been $325. I try to keep it no higher than 65-66, but I don't think I have set it higher than 68.

Yes, we get the crackling noises. I do think it's what you said - just parts heating up. I'm disappointed that moving the Maine, nobody has electric heat - and they discourage it! I love not having to worry about a furnace and fuel oils/products.
