Another thing you can do which I have researched a bit.........pull the drywall on the common walls pull the cheap insulation and have spray foam blown in to make your wall solid. You have to make sure you plumbing and electrical are good before you do because they will be hard to access after the walls are filled with spray foam.

You can also double dry wall and putt mass loaded vinyl between the 2 pieces of drywall. MLV is very cost effective and is supposed to work very well. It's used in recording studios.

One last thing you can do.............measure and cut to fit museum quality Plexiglas to put in your window cutouts if you don't have double pane......I have heard they actually work better at night time for noise, but even museum grade will have some distortion.
