^^^^^^
This says it!

Whoever bought it wants the property, not the house. Come on, there's not even a fridge included, the furniture looks like the bargain package from a staging place, that sunken living room is dated, no separate walk-in shower.....I bet an investor bought it

There are 2 kinds of properties in this world -- beach front and non-beach front. It's just a matter of common sense where to invest on your non-beach front.

Ooops! Thanks to all the people who pointed this out.

My mind was in a fog yesterday, LOL! There were a few other posts that were equally loopy. I've had the flu, and I guess my meds were having more influence than I realized. Lesson learned, don't post on city-data when you're taking medicine. Good thing I wasn't driving!

They'll prob pay to substantially make it a nicer house to live in. A family friend sold their un-renovated, olddd house in a good neighborhood in the NYC suburbs for $1.2m and the buyers literally just tore it all down and built up a brand new house. People who have money........ always find ways to spend it.

When the circumstances of a RE deal, restaurant, nonprofit organization, etc. don't make sense, usually there is some funny money involved.

Unbelievable. Such an unappealing little modest house. I wonder if banks actually lend such a huge amount, or what the appraisal is.

Same deal with my parents' place in SoCal. Similar looking modest house on million+ 1-acre lot.
$30,000 in the 60's.

You do wonder where it will all end....

I assume they will lend on at least part of it. You may need a bigger down payment. I know some one who lives in a very desirable but tiny house in Boston worth like 800k and I think they only put 10-15% down.
