This one is the better buy. With renovation costs on the first one, you will come in well over the list price of this one. This one looks turn-key and has way more curb appeal. And it has the character the other one will never have. Just my 2 cents.

Was the house across the street rehabbed or new construction? If it's new, then Pittsburgh will probably allow a narrow lot new house in an area of houses of similar size.
Imo your wrong.. a 100k remodel would have that "Munter" leagues ahead of that house
You are sadly mistaken if you think you can fix 183 up for 100K. ESPECIALLY on a 203k loan. MAYBE if you could DIY it. Maybe. But a 203k? Double it. And then add some more.

If your goal is to turn 183 into this and sell for a profit, you are lacking 1000 square feet. (Per county records it has 1,264 square feet.) And a garage. And the balconies with a view. So... good luck with that.
