If they own the land I would be concerned about liability, potential buyers touring the site.

It shouldn't much matter to any buyer who's under contract.

It matters to the other members of the MLS, who theoretically have some standards that all participants (licensed agents) have agreed to follow regarding the accuracy of information provided.
