Now, normally I wound not reply back to such an answer as yours but some family stuff came up this morning that has me upset so I'm not in the mood to have some stranger rip apart a letter that I feel is fine. Especially when I had my spouse, kids and all my co-workers look at it first and they said it was a very nice letter!
Arghhhhh
You are 100% correct - that is my opinion. When someone posts on these forums it is understood that it will garner opinions.

I certainly am glad I don't have a neighbor who, while knowing absolutely nothing about me, would question my integrity while also warning me to avoid negativity and at the same time not being sure about that which they are complaining. Have a nice life.

You may be right but then again, I don't think I should have to walk on egg shells. After all, I'm not the one invading someone else's property. LOL

Instead of hiring an attorney I simply went next door and explained the issue and asked that the fence be moved. Within a few days the neighbor moved the fence over to his property. Problem solved without ever having to speak with an attorney! And we were good neighbors with each other until I sold the house 15 years later.
That's awesome AlaskaErik! Hopefully we can settle this in a positive way. Heck, I am really not too concerned about it being perfect.

Yes, I said "spouse said both back markers are there".
However, when I went to look this last weekend, I didn't see the one on the Southeast corner

in reality ....

sorry that you had some family stuff come up. but you did come to the internet for feedback. Who knows what reception the neighbor will get fromyou if they knock on your door today to discuss/question what you're saying.

Honestly, what that person said is what I thought when I read the letter. In total, the letter was fine.

But those two phrases/sentences indicated you assumed intentional guilt. And if you'd rather have a neighbor that dealt with issues by letter rather than a knock on the door, OK as well.

By the way, I wouldn't tell anybody "a week or so" - be very specific instead.
