I don't even get why a RE agent would even bother to take such a listing. Seems like a complete waste of time. Has to be a cash sale, no one wants all that junk plus the 2 cars that allegedly are worth half the price on the home means it can't be financed.

That house would have trouble selling even if it was in a hot market, people would be turned off, but in Detroit, no not never.

ROFL! Special stip: "Seller to remove ALL personal items no later than 48 hours prior to closing." How in the name of all that's holy would an inspector even be able to INSPECT that house?! I don't fault the guy for decorating his house the way that makes him happy -- the basement is actually kinda fun, with the stage and bar. My stager has a FB page where she posts "staging gone wrong" photos -- I recognize four of her recent photos from this house alone!

Can't believe they did 70 pictures of this house -- but hey, when you're taking "architecturally significant" shots of a lion towel hook in the bathroom . . .

The ironic thing is that the listing is probably getting a zillion hits, and the agent is probably wondering why the offers aren't rolling in. Of course, the fact that the house is listed at half a million dollars, and the rest of the neighborhood is going for $130K and below might be an appraisal issue . . .

This is the weirdest listing I ever seen. 0.24 acres "estate" in Detroit.

That is one odd house with an identity crisis. The living room looks like it belongs to Liberace, the kitchen June Cleaver and the bedroom to Dracula. And what's with the plastic sheeting on the floor in front of the toilet? Somebody has bad aim? I would love to meet the owner, there's got to be an interesting story there.

Obviously the home is not worth $550,000. Unless you can move it to my street. Not that I would want it.

We know the area has homes in the $33,000 range. Lets say that this home is really unique and can fetch a good price. We give the value of the home $40,000.

Lets look at the contents though. You can find examples of the Kohler & Campbell Baby grand for sale from a low of $2,500 on up to $25,000. From that picture alone I would place the piano at least in the $8,000 range.

The cars on the auction market could bring in $25,000 each if they are as well cared for as they look. So now we are at $98,000.

we have no idea of the other items in the home. The place seems to loaded with interesting items. Claims to have lots of automotive items. I don't have the training to see if the other items visible would bring in an additional $452,000. I am betting that you would easily have $100,000 in items there. It would really take someone in the auction market to take a walk and value the items in the home.

The "collection" needs to be sold off.

Just looked through all the photos -- 3 bdrm 2 1/2 baths-- with a pool, finished basement, main house and extension. Meticulously kept. I'd hate to be the one who cleans the place - all white etc. Yes...the owner is eccentric but others are too.

The collection....yes sell it off. Send the cars to an auction house. Lots of art there as well as collectibles. Start clearing the place out and sell it as a "normal" house.

Here furniture can't be included in the appraisal. I always keep it separate and let the owner deal with the buyer on it.

Sweet baby Jesus. Unique alright. First thing to go would have to be the scary dolls at the dining room table.

I would hope the agent knows the publicity this home has gotten and not to translate hits into interest.

Of course, the big Z claims 76 million unique visitors a month, yet we only sell ~7MM homes each year.
