Let's say my property insurance was paid on March 1, 2018 thru my mortgage escrow fund.

If I get a wind mitigation report because i got shutters and other repairs do they refund the difference for the upcoming year even if it's already paid?

Or say if i were to switch companies and it's already paid for the year, am I stuck with them or can I ask to switch and get a refund for the unused portion of the year applied to a new policy?

I don't know the answer on the improvements. I would ask the company. Probably some credit is due.

You can get a refund on pre-paid coverage if you switch.... yes. That happens all the time, for clients who are paying attention when they buy and sell.

thanks, I would think a refund would be due since their risk is now lower too due to lee potential wind damage especially in Florida. Although I didn't see one broken window in SW Florida after Irma, just some roof damage but only 2 homes on a the 4 block area I walk my dogs. A lot of trees fell but mostly causing fence damage.
