There's plenty of cheap real estate in depressed areas with no or negative appreciation...so....

But you really didn't want anyone's opinion, it's very clear to everyone but you.

I guess if you somehow derive enjoyment out of an unimproved island thousands of miles away from you and your family...a family who rejects the idea as crazy and would probably never join you...I mean who are we to suggest otherwise?
Please don't take the debates wrongly. People's opinions are what I am here for. Debates flush out details. I then take each point into consideration and see whether I can handle. Hopefully at the end of the debate I have eliminated all or minimized blind spots.

The ball is rolling now. Looks like another sight-seen purchase. Ha.
I have been following this thread. It's so fun to see someone not just chase a dream, but actually take steps to grab it.

How cool!

Good for you.

To be honest, there's zero evidence in your posts that you do this. Whether on your DIY projects or whatever.

You do recall, the last time I posted pictures of my work, you started to dive into coastal regulations, don't you? (all work is kosher, btw)

Yes until it became clearer you weren't really listening.

How far away is the nearest boat ramp? A place where you could trailer a boat to put it into the water? The further away the place to launch a boat, the bigger and more expensive your boat would have to be.

If it is too far away, you will run into issues with hiring a boat to take you to your island.

Distance from the shore is not at all the same thing as distance that has to be traveled in order to reach the island.

there's a teeny dock there already for now, and an easement to build a dock should they need it. and according to the real estate site, it's only 1,500 ft from that area.
