TekFreek, why is there a bed in your kitchen?

I love the cat!

That horrible little curtain over the lime green door along with the blinds needs to GO!

The master bedroom was carpeted and it was the dogs bathroom. The woman who lived there had Alzheimer's and had no idea the dog was going there. As you can see in the bedroom pic the rug is gone and that floor has been scrubbed twice with bleach. So we slept in the kitchen until we went back to Iowa where we spent 3 months getting our house ready to sell.

That's a nice bed btw. One of those blow ups that unfolds with the legs. Heavy as the dickens, and the size of a very large suitcase when stowed. Thank heavens it had wheels!

Here a picture of the same area towards the end of construction. The doorway into the kitchen that used to be at the right of this pic is closed off and is a bookcase on the kitchen side.

And, yes the blinds are still black. Those are temporary paper blinds and we liked them so well we bought black permanent ones.

Notice the blue tape to left in the older pic? There's walk-out door there now. There used to be a slider to the left of the door, but we replaced it with a window. Got more living area because of it. We dislike sliders.

See the mass of tile in the older pic? Every one was oriented the same. No rotation. Except one. Go figure.

When we bought our house the previous owners had all these nonsensical quotes all over the house. I saw to it that once we moved in most of it was scraped off or painted over. Why do you need those gibberish decorations all over your house? Is it a reminder or something to tell you to enjoy life or else? It's corny and I laugh at people who have it all over their house.

Thanks for this thread. I realized I hadn't taken any pictures of the finished remodel. Too busy!

Cleaners just left so this is a great time to do so.

My apologies if I have hijacked this thread. If someone feels like I did feel free to ask a a mod to remove.

People just slay me. If I could afford a house to live in, I wouldn't care what it had in it. If the layout was what I wanted or even close to what I wanted, everything else is just covering and can be changed. Although I'd sell off stainless steel appliances ASAP.

I guess I have a pretty high tolerance for living with bad decor. But then, I'm the type that loves tiled kitchen counters and wouldn't mind having a pink bathroom, either.
