The home once lived in by David and Louise Turpin, the couple accused of torturing and starving their 13 children, sold for $310,360 on Wednesday.

Located in Perris, California, the home was allegedly the site of unspeakable horrors, where the Turpin children were reportedly denied access to the residence's three bathrooms and given one meal a day and one shower a year.

Slightly under the median home price there of $316,000, and not that much less than the appraised value.

I guess the need for housing overcomes the fear of "bad vibes."

They will have to spend mega amounts of money just to clean the place, let alone renovate so it is habitable. Must have been a heckuva deal at that price.

I'm surprised the house went that high, what with its history plus the fact that Perris is not a place I'd much care to live in. I used to go climbing at Big Rock out there. It is, or at least was, a bit sketchy.

The buyer doesn't have to keep the Turpins or agree to hire them as babysitters?

The house itself didn't do anything odd. New paint and carpet, a bit of scrubbing to get rid of the stink and the house is fit to live in. Living there isn't going to turn the next family into monsters.

Iím surprised it went for that cheap, I thought single family homes in California started around the 400s range

Idk. Maybe i't just a "too soon" thing but this is a a little cringey to me.

I know it's not an apples to apples comparison but I just think about how they tore down and rebuilt Sandy Hook Elementary

"California"...is a very, very large and diverse place. I had a friend who lived for a while in Trona, CA, where you can buy a single-family house for $22K.
