How is asking for closing cost a harebrained demand? Do you pay for things when you possibly don't have to? In today's world, this is a common request. It's easily priced into the original price.

I'm kind of shocked more sellers aren't taking this into consideration. It seems like ignorance to me.

As a seller, aren't you aware of what real estate deals look like? Concessions requests aren't new.

Market price is what other buyers have paid other sellers for like kind property, recently.

If the data shows that buyers paid 102% of asking with no concessions then that is the trend. Or it could show 97% of list price with $5,000 in concessions paid at closing.

So truly, this a market dependent trend. You won’t know unless you hire a real estate agent, that shows you the data.
