Howdy Peeps,

Looking for suggestions for decent resources to rent a room. Moving soon and my arrival precedes the availability of the house I am moving into.

Thanks Much!

Craigslist or Airbnb.

Or a hotel. Lol

How long do you need to stay for? We lived in an extended stay hotel for a few days, pre-kids. Would have been fine except we had two cats and a German Shepherd. I think we lasted three days. A month at the hotel would have only costed us what a month of rent would have cost.

Two months. So no, the cost of a hotel/motel isn't feasible for the length of time.

Didn't think of Craigslist. AirBnB cost-wise, is going to be similar to a hotel/motel rate.

It seems you dont have much money, however the motels in the town you're moving to are reasonable.

You can’t afford $900/mo? Granted, our situation was almost 10 years ago now and we got an extremely good rate. But if you can’t afford even that much, how are you going to pay rent or mortgage in your new place?

You ask for suggestions but then you ignore.

I have used motels/hotels for months at a time for employment when new to an area. You go in or call and you ask for a long term rate. It ain't rocket science.

Search the sublet section on Craigslist. It's specifically designed for people looking to rent something for a non-standard lease term.

The other option is an ExtendedSTay type of hotel. I checked what it would cost at say, Charlotte NC and it was around $44 a night for two months.
